Personal protective equipment is the last line of defence after elimination, substitution, engineering and administrative controls.
Select PPE from the task risk assessment, check that it fits, and inspect it before every use. Damaged or expired equipment must be removed from use and reported.
Store PPE clean and dry, never share personal items such as respirators or hearing protection, and replace items according to the manufacturer's guidance.
